"Staple it together and call it bad weather"

Ahhhh... The infamous lines from one of my most favorite Jack Johnson songs. This song really puts it all into perspective for me. To me the lyrics from this song ring a Middle Schooler's anthem. Everything seems to fall apart, you move forward before fully understanding because you want to get "somewhere." Where is somewhere? I think often times Middle School students build up walls because they are scared of what's out there (trust me, most adults are guilty of this as well). The general idea of the song is that eventually the character figures out that he/she needs to work together with someone in order to be happy. Those that surround you right now are your greatest asset. Not only your family, but your friends, classmates, and teachers are here to assist you.

If you get a chance, download this song and listen to it yourself. It may remind you to reflect on your own walls that you have built around yourself.

Best,

C.S.
