When I first picked up this game I expected what I had always come to expect from the Call of Duty series, great first-person shooter, lots of weapons, multi-person leveling, and an almost predictable plot where I get to save the world. There's really nothing like it, saving the world that is. A chance to sit back, grab that white controller that fits perfectly between my two hands, and let those triggers take control. Wrong.
In CoDMW2 you can expect anything but relaxing. Literally sitting at the edge of your seat is what you come to expect while playing this game. The shifts and turns in the plot offer the viewer an experience more like that of watching a movie. The plot is written amazingly, and offers too many dynamics for me to write about in this post.
While viewing Game Informer I read an article that suggested a 9.75 of 10 is too harsh, and that this game deserves a perfect review... I agree. Though the campaign is only about 5 hours of actual gameplay, the online multiplayer is where true gamers get to test their skills. Level up through each match as you play against millions scattered throughout the gaming world. My suggestion, get to know the maps very well.
Now onto something I find more important than the actual game... haha, I tricked you into reading this post! I want to know what you think of the part in the campaign where we find out Russia is bombing/attacking the United States. For me this was an "OMG" moment. This is something that we as Americans never actually think will happen, nor do we believe that we could be "set-up" as was told in the storyline. I want to know, do you think the United States will ever have a major World War on it's soil? As many of you know, our oceans have protected us for centuries, but in the technological world it is no longer about geography, rather it's about information. Let me know.
Best,
C.S.
