iTouch… I mean iPad.

With all of the hype revolving around Steve Jobs and the Apple Corporation we have come to expect nothing less than the best from a company that revolutionized the personal computer. Apple is a company that is known for its quality and practical applications/products. With almost every product released we have seen gadgets that were refined, so much in fact that we could say they were perfected, until now that is…

Last week in a Town Hall conference with Apple investors Steve Jobs released Apple’s newest product, the iPad. Said to revolutionize web browsing and e-book reading, this beautiful, yet elegant 9.7” screen tablet promise to offer everything you wanted from a personal browsing device… one at a time. That’s right, if you want to listen to music on iTunes while surfing the web, too bad. The iPad doesn’t allow multiple applications/programs to be opened at once, meaning that you’ll just have to wait to Instant Message your friends until the song is over, or wait to check that email until you’re done viewing the funny photos from your Birthday party.
The internet has transformed our content viewing, especially when it comes to video, but if you want to watch video on the iPad, you had better hope it’s not in flash format. What does no flash video mean? Well, it means no Hulu, no Blip.tv, no Skype, and no Youtube. When purchasing an iPad you are purchasing an oversized iTouch. Stocker’s advice: Save your money and the heartbreak, buy a netbook.
